An intensive advanced training program in lymphology and Complex Decongestive Therapy (CDT) recently took place in Bahrain. The course was fully funded and officially supported by the Bahraini Ministry of Health, highlighting the growing relevance of lymphology within the national healthcare system.

A total of 24 healthcare professionals successfully completed the program. In parallel, Verena and Ameera, two highly experienced practitioners, began their teacher training within the GUELTIG LYMPHOLOGY framework, ensuring the sustainable development of local expertise.

Almost all participants passed the final examination. Only three candidates completed additional clinical observation days at specialized rehabilitation centers to finalize their certification.

Interest in lymphology and CDT is rising rapidly in Bahrain. More than 100 registrations have already been received for the next advanced training, scheduled for February 1–11, 2026. To support optimal preparation, participants will gain early access in January 2026 to an e-learning module covering anatomy, physiology and pathology of lymphovascular diseases.

As lymphology is currently not part of standard university education in Bahrain, all participants can be considered pioneers in advancing specialized patient care.

Special thanks go to Ameera and Verena for their exceptional commitment, to Thuasne for providing compression materials, and to SEEF for excellent organization and continuous support.
